Jim McLennan
Known as one of the best fly fishermen in the world, Jim McLennan is also a guitar player who in the seventies met acoustic guitar guru Stephan Grossman. Jim subsequently recorded for Grossman’s Kicking Mule label. Though Jim took a 20-year hiatus from performing, his passion for playing never diminished and last year he returned to the stage and released a terrific new recording of fingerstyle instrumentals titled Six String Gumbo. It was an Album of the Week pick at CKUA shortly after it was released. After Grossman heard Six String Gumbo the legendary guitarist stated that “from classic rags to Jerry Reed and The Beatles – Jim has it all…he is now a full-fledged picker at home with blues, folk, jazz and pop.” Jim’s wife Lynda will also be adding her gorgeous voice to some of the program.
