Rob Heath

Sep 28th 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Another cozy and intimate evening with good food and excellent music at the Blue Chair

Rob Heath is a powerhouse in Edmonton's Songwriter Community. He is tireless in his work with songwriters of every ilk, from the young beginners to seasoned pros.

For this show he brings Kaeli Morris, and Von Bieker to the stage. They will perform songs that will touch you in different ways, they will make you laugh until you think that you will split a gut and/or make you weep with the injustices of life.

Rob released his sixth album, Ticket to Everywhere, on March 9, 2019 at the Northern Lights Folk Club. Self-produced, the 20 songs on Ticket to Everywhere run the gamut from: whimsical, explosive, introspective, hopeful, heart-rending, brooding, clever, and all of them brutally honest. Rob loves the process of writing songs, and for the past 15 years friends have produced all his albums. Although they did a wonderful job, Rob missed the production end of creating music. On Ticket to Everywhere, Rob played, programmed and edited every sound on this CD with Cam Ambrose mixing it.

This 16 year old singer songwriter has a way of evoking powerhouse singers from the past, but also brings something entirely new and undefinable to her music.  Kaeli took home two Edmonton Journal Cappie awards this year, for starring as the witch in Big Fish the Musical, for Best Song and Featured Actress in a Musical. She has sung for non profit events like Run for the Cure, and Days for Girls. She helped organize and sing for Benefit for Adassa and was part of Live Launch at Strathcona High School, for the largest fundraiser of the year. She has performed for events like Make Music Edmonton, Skirts A Fire, and NextFest, and with Girl Brain Sketch Comedy.

Von Bieker plays bow tie rock to haunt your heart. His songs juxtapose hope with despair. Love with fear. Faith with doubt. Gentle folk crooning with a raw and honest howl. In Von Bieker's soundscape, the earnest retro charm of a bowtie meets the world-worn grit of rock and roll. Retro guitar twang channels resonant writing through a voice often pushed until it cracks into free-fall falsetto. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Von Bieker draws on influences ranging from Canada's Bahamas, Bruce Cockburn and Leonard Cohen to Glen Hansard, Hiss Golden Messenger, Sufjan Stevens and Radiohead.
